The Annexure

Written by one person who reads too many exchange filings

A note from Vivek, who built this and is entirely to blame for it.

About The Annexure

Why this exists

BSE publishes several hundred material disclosures a day — everything from arbitration awards to notices that someone's registered office moved two streets over. Reading all of it to find the two or three filings that actually matter to real estate and infrastructure is not a reasonable way to start a morning.

So this site does the reading first, keeps what's relevant, and gets out of the way. That's the whole idea. No dashboard trying to be a terminal, no algorithm deciding what you should think about a filing — just what got filed, organised.

How this desk works

Thirty trading days of focus-sector filings. Tags in the left rail open a listing of every match. Search filters by company, scrip, or tag on the page you are on. Named lists (Realty, Infrastructure, Power, Cement, Core names) sit as chips under the search box. Calendar is its own page: companies that filed, and which tags landed, each day. Chart is sixty sessions of candles and volume for core names, with All and Material filings under the plot. Recent focus PDFs open in the drawer; older filings and the rest of the book go to BSE.

What "material" means here

BSE publishes every filing under its own category and subcategory. This site maps those pairs to a shorter list of tags through a hand-written table (config/crosswalk.yml) — not a model, not keywords. Of those tags, 26 are treated as material: they are the ones that tend to change something about a company rather than restate it.

The material list is an editorial choice made by this site. It is not a SEBI definition, it is not BSE's, and it says nothing about whether a filing is good or bad news. Open any filing and the drawer names the exact BSE pair it came from and the tag it was mapped to, so you can see the decision rather than trust it. Switch the desk to Everything to see what the material filter is hiding.

How the front page is chosen

The front page carries at most twelve filings from the newest trading day. They are scored by how unusual the tag is across the window, how rarely that company files one like it, the company's size, whether the filing carries a real description, and whether the company filed more than one material disclosure that day. The weights are in config/signal_weights.yml.

Same-day price movement is deliberately not an input. Ranking a filing by what the price did that day would assert the filing caused the move, which is a claim this site does not make. Every selected filing shows the reason it surfaced, so the selection can be argued with rather than taken on trust. On a quiet day the page shows fewer than twelve; it is never padded.

Who's doing this

Vivek spends his working hours in Indian real estate, after starting out in investment banking. Which is really just a fancy way of saying: he was already reading these filings for work, got tired of doing it by hand, and this is what happens when that feeling meets a free weekend.

A few things worth knowing, in the interest of full disclosure

  • Reads SEBI regulations for fun, on purpose, unprompted. This is either a personality flaw or a professional advantage — the jury's still out.
  • Runs a small quant trading setup on Bank Nifty on the side, so has strong and largely unsolicited opinions about candlestick patterns.
  • Plays IPL fantasy every season with a level of seriousness the stakes do not remotely justify.
  • Genuinely believes most financial dashboards try too hard. Hence: this one deliberately doesn't.

The boring but important part

This site is not a SEBI-registered Research Analyst or Investment Adviser, isn't affiliated with BSE, NSE, or SEBI, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, or do anything at all with a security. It's a reading tool, not advice. The full disclaimer is in the footer, and it's worth actually reading, not just skipping.
